is seeking a full-time Principal for the 2026-2027 school year. St.
Louise Parish School opened in 1961 and has provided academic
excellence in an atmosphere that fosters Catholic faith and values
for over 60 years. We offer a comprehensive curriculum, impressive
facilities, and specialist teachers in the areas of music, art,
P.E., technology, and library. St. Louise Parish School currently
enrolls 285 students from diverse backgrounds and faith-filled

others as modeled by Jesus. PRINCIPAL JOB DESCRIPTION RESPONSIBLE
TO : Pastoral Leader POSITION PURPOSE: Manages St. Louise Parish
School in conformity with Archdiocesan and local school policies,
rules, and regulations. DIMENSIONS and SUBORDINATE SUMMARIES:
Budget: $4-$5 million Employees: 48 in total, consisting of
teachers, support/administrative staff, instructional assistants,
and Kids’ Club staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Practicing Catholic
required Master’s Degree in Educational Administration, Educational
Leadership, or similar advanced degree Holds a current Washington
State Principal Certificate (or eligible) Minimum 5 years teaching
experience Minimum 5-7 years administrative experience, preferably
in a Catholic school setting REQUIRED SKILL SET: Experience in
curriculum development, professional development, and effective
evaluations of staff. Excellent administrative, oral, and written
communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to
successfully negotiate multiple demands and prioritize tasks.
Relationship-focused leader with an ability to connect with
students, parents, faculty, and prospective families with ease and
sincerity. Demonstrated ability to show initiative, leadership,
collaboration, and independent thinking. Visionary leader who can
honor the traditions and history of our school and community while
also guiding the school forward into the future. Preferred
experience serving on an accreditation team or guiding a school
through the Catholic accreditation process. MAJOR DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures the development and implementation of a
vision and model for Christian leadership at St. Louise Parish
School. The Principal integrates Gospel values into the learning
environment; ensures a curriculum that fosters knowledge of the
Catholic faith, honors students’ stages of faith development, and
promotes ethical decision-making; and provides opportunities for
liturgical celebrations for students. The Principal also ensures
retreats and other in-service opportunities for faith-sharing are
available to faculty and staff. Ensures the school curriculum
complies with Archdiocesan and State standards. The Principal
oversees long-range planning that anticipates future curriculum
needs and integrates them with current needs; facilitates, with the
Vice Principal, ongoing evaluation of curriculum strengths and
growth areas; evaluates and plans for the purchasing of new
textbooks when necessary; and works with faculty to supplement
programs as needed. Ensures effective communication among parents,
teachers, and school administration. The Principal convenes general
parent meetings and meetings for individual needs/concerns;
publishes clear written policies and procedures by updating the
Parent Handbook annually; ensures parents receive ongoing reports
on their child’s progress; attends Parents Club meetings; and
ensures parents have opportunities to volunteer in school programs.
Manages human resources for St. Louise Parish School and supervises
certified and support staff. The Principal recruits, interviews,
hires, evaluates, supports, and, when necessary, terminates
employees; ensures each employee has a job description and/or
contract outlining duties and responsibilities; monitors teacher
performance through annual evaluations, ongoing walk-throughs, and
review of report cards before distribution; and, with the Vice
Principal, routinely observes classrooms and provides written
observation reports based on the Archdiocesan teacher-evaluation
tool. The Principal provides in-service days prior to school
opening and holds weekly staff meetings to support communication
and professional growth. The Principal and Vice Principal meet
individually with teachers three times per year to discuss faith
and professional growth and to support teachers as instructional
leaders. Assists the Vice Principal in implementing student
discipline policies and procedures. The Principal co-manages
student files documenting individual circumstances within the
discipline cycle; shares responsibility for students referred by
teachers for disciplinary action; and advises teachers and parents
regarding students with behavioral and/or academic concerns.
Ensures timely, accurate school and parish communications. The
Principal publishes a Weekly Family Bulletin, including a personal
letter to parents, and a Weekly Faculty Bulletin for internal
communication. Serves as Executive Officer of the School
Commission. The Principal initiates, implements, and reviews
policies; communicates school needs and future directions; chairs
the Planning and Policy Subcommittee; helps plan monthly agendas;
and provides a monthly report on the state of the school. The
Principal shares annual goals and objectives with the Commission
and collaborates on the preparation and ongoing management of the
annual budget. Stewards the school’s financial,
enrollment/marketing, and advancement efforts by supervising the
Development Director (including enrollment/marketing, annual fund,
and grants) and the school bookkeeper. Directs the school
bookkeeper and works with the School Commission’s Finance Committee
to develop, manage, and implement the annual school budget in
collaboration with the Parish Director of Operations. The Principal
monitors the budget monthly and collaborates with the Finance
Committee to ensure fiscal stewardship. Oversees monthly monitoring
of tuition collections and trimester monitoring of volunteer hours
and fundraising commitments, as required by the tuition and parent
contract. The Principal addresses non-compliance with families and
takes necessary action. The Principal also assists families with
Tuition Assistance Grants. Coordinates scheduling and sign-ups for
faculty responsibilities and activities. Oversees the honor roll
program by distributing criteria to teachers; ensuring the
completion and distribution of ribbons; and providing the student
list to the office for publication in the bulletin and posting.
Manages school registration throughout the year with the secretary.
The Principal interviews prospective students and parents, holds
information meetings with the Development Director, and assisted by
the review team, and makes admissions decisions. Ensures students’
safety through periodic checks of playgrounds and classrooms and by
conducting regular fire and earthquake drills. The Principal
establishes, publishes, and practices emergency procedures for
fire, earthquake, and other disasters; communicates facility safety
concerns to the Parish Maintenance Supervisor; and oversees the
school’s Emergency Preparedness Committee. Collaborates with the
Pastoral Leader to provide unified and stable parish
administration. The Principal exercises sensitivity to staff
relations; advises the Pastoral Leader on administrative matters,
staff development, and parish pastoral life; and maintains a
responsible presence with boards, committees, and leadership groups
served. Acts as liaison between the Pastoral Leader and the school
community. The Principal attends regular meetings with the Pastoral
Leader and periodic meetings with Parish Director of Operations to
share updates. Participates in Archdiocesan and Deanery principal
meetings and committees, ensuring the needs and values of St.
Louise Parish School are communicated and integrated with the
Archdiocesan vision for Catholic schools. Works outside normal
business hours as needed, including evenings and weekends. The
Principal is available during June and August to close the school
year and prepare for the next, typically taking time off in July
while remaining available as needed. SALARY : $118,000 - $148,000
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal
salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant
