Job Description:

Site Reliability Engineer Position Purpose The Site Reliability Engineer has duties on instructing, directing, and checking the work of other Site Reliability engineering personnel. Acts as lead in the design, benchmark testing, and documentation of program implementation. Responsible for applications installation and configuration dealing with the overall operating system, such as large telecommunications networks, data security, health, and stability of the application . May customize purchased applications and assist in maintaining and reviewing technical manuals. Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensures software availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency as well as maintain system configuration
  • Provides the day-to-day support and service restoration for all production applications
  • Collaborates with other IT functional groups to coordinate system, product and application upgrades/enhancements
  • Diagnoses problems in software and hardware and makes recommendations for improvement
  • Monitors environment to ensure effective performance
  • Helps create and write support and procedure manuals and keeps track of updates to these documents
  • Requires full technical knowledge of all phases of software implementation and configuration
  • Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products
  • Acts as project leader for projects with small budgets or limited duration Key Performance Indicators

      • Bachelors degree in business administration or computer science is desired Required Knowledge and Skill
        • Eight plus years of experience in specific software development
        • Thorough understanding of system procedure manuals and Operation Systems
        • Good interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written skill
        • Unix/Linux (must be proficient with Unix/Linux shell: bash, ksh, etc.)
        • Experience with using version control software desired (MS Team Foundation, SVN, ClearCase)
        • Shell, Perl, Expect scripting with exposure to C, C++, C#, Java MySQL, Oracle, Python, .NET, JSON, YAML
        • Web Technologies : HTML, XML, Java Script
        • Experienced AWS Cloud Computing to include Cloud Formation
        • AWS Certification in Systems Operations, Security, or DevOps is desired
        • Will be regularly working in multi-platform environment (UNIX, Linux, and Windows). Experience on other platforms is beneficial
        • Should be capable of Server level understanding and administrative functions while troubleshooting
        • ITIL experience or training is a plus
        • Network communication protocols: FTP, SFTP including network troubleshooting
        • Able to communicate issues to various teams in a fast paced environment
        • Ability to support a 24/7 environment with rotating Oncall Schedule
        • Basic Project Management skills

          • Diagnoses problems in computer hardware or software and makes recommendations for problem resolutions.
          • Implements the most effective solutions to resolve organization and stakeholder/customer problems.
          • Working knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) models.
          • Reviews, recommends, and/or determines emerging technologies based on their value.
          • Considers key regulatory requirements and guidance as they relate to enterprise architecture.
          • Considers and integrates security and privacy into the enterprise architecture.
          • Identifies opportunities to improve systems supporting business processes.
          • Provides guidance and support to customers and stakeholders on the use of the enterprise system.
