your future with us. The Boeing Airplane Safety Engineering team is
seeking a Safety Engineering Senior Manager (L-Level) to join our
team in Everett, WA or Renton, WA The Airplane Safety Engineering
(ASE) organization’s technical breadth covers airplane and
system-level safety analysis and integration. The ASE teams support
new and derivative airplane designs from concept development
through post-Amended Type Certificate (ATC) support. For commercial
development programs, the ASE teams are responsible for working
with the Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) programs and regulators
to ensure the scope of the program safety analysis is appropriate,
that teams supporting the program are aware of and following the
processes for safety analyses, and for executing airplane-level
safety analyses for the program. For post-ATC support ASE teams
partner with functional teams to tailor and scope updates to safety
analyses impacted by post-ATC changes to airplane design and
execute updates to airplane-level safety analyses where impacted by
these changes. The selected candidate will manage first-line
engineering managers within ASE whose engineering teams support
active commercial product development projects and/or post-ATC
program projects. These managers and teams perform critical
airplane technical analysis with high visibility across Boeing. The
selected candidate will play an integral role in ensuring safe
airplane operations and design. Primary responsibilities: Manage
managers of engineering teams performing technical activities in
the area of integration of safety processes across multiple
functional teams Develop and maintain relationships with BCA
Program, Enterprise Safety, Safety Management System (SMS), and
functional team leaders as well as collaborate with regulators
Create and maintain a culture of open communication and
collaboration with focus on continuous improvement and knowledge
transfer Promote talent acquisition and retention within the team
by ensuring career development of direct reports, promoting
employee recognition, and building a team culture that improves
employee satisfaction Establish and implement integrated team plans
(e.g. backlogs, daily scrums, dashboards) to ensure business,
technical and customer requirements are achieved This position is
expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required
to work onsite in Everett, WA or Renton, WA . Basic Qualifications
(Required Skills and Experience): Bachelor of Science degree or
higher from an accredited course of study in engineering,
engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering
technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or
computer science 5 years of experience in an engineering role 2
years of experience in an engineering management role 2 years of
experience in leadership either formally or informally leading
teams in a cross-functional environment with a wide variety of
aviation stakeholders in diverse venues worldwide. Strong written
and verbal communication skills. Schedule flexibility to enable
effective coordination and engagement with a globally distributed
team. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
Strong motivation to prioritize retaining, developing, and growing
team members Experience with leading technical cross functional
teams, working across organizational boundaries, and ensuring an
inclusive environment 3 years of experience in an engineering
management role 3 years of experience in leadership either formally
or informally leading teams in a cross-functional environment
Engineering background in Safety Engineering with experience
applying System Safety industry best practices (e.g. ARP4761 and
ARP4754) Engineering background in Systems Engineering Experience
managing Engineering Unit Members (E-UMs) or Designated Engineering
Representatives (DERs) Prior experience with airplane development
programs or post-ATC airplane support Engineering background in at
least one of the following disciplines: Aerodynamics / Flight
Sciences, Lab / Ground / Flight Test, Interiors, Propulsion, or
Airplane Systems (e.g., Flight Deck / Human Factors), and an
understanding of certification processes Drug Free Workplace:

considerations. Summary Pay Range : $181,900 - $246,100
