We are full-service and authorized Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, Autocar, and Hino dealerships, representing well-known OEM's in the industry. In the Pacific Northwest, we operate the largest network of Class 8 and Medium Duty truck dealerships representing both Peterbilt and Volvo/Mack.

General Job Description
This is a management level position responsible for developing and leading the IT organization for Dobbs Truck Group. This position will maintain and develop new technology and methodologies enterprise-wide for all company locations and leads the IT Team in; production operations, services and support, desktop, telecommunications, networks, servers, and data centers.

This position has budgetary and financial planning, hiring and staff development responsibilities. In addition, this role includes working with the Executive Leadership Team in defining and implementing the company's strategic plans and objectives to ensure management controls and best practices are shared across all operations.

Management Responsibilities

Performs all supervisory responsibilities associated with the IT department including employee related issues.
Enforces company technology policies and procedures.
Establishes and maintains effective professional working relationships with co-workers and every level of management as well as contractors and equipment suppliers
Determines the goals of the IT department within broad outlines provided by the Executive Leadership Team and contributes to the continuity of computer services by providing necessary technical leadership and project coordination.
Forecasts costs, equipment and personnel needs for projects and programs as required and related to IT operations.
Stays abreast of the latest developments in IT technology and remains highly technically competent at all levels of data processing while striving for enhanced user productivity through implementation of new software technology where applicable, and the implementation of policies that more effectively utilize IT resources.
Prepares long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, and acquisition of the resources needed to support them. Assures responsiveness of long-range plans to corporate objectives.
Captures, monitors, and analyzes computer usage data
Recommends and implements policies, software, and hardware to provide maximum resource utilization in a cost-efficient manner.
Assumes the leadership role in developing and maintaining a systems disaster recovery plan.

Network Responsibilities

WANProvide routing solutions that support a highly available network.
Configuring switches and routers for various solutions, including QoS, disaster recovery failure.
Work with selected Telco circuit providers on connectivity solutions at all locations and datacenters. Standard and SIP circuitry.
Circuit Ordering.
Vendor Management and coordination.

LANAssignment, creation and configuration of new VLANs using best known standards.
Assignment, creation and configuration of new IP networks.
IP address assignments.
Assisting the stores as necessary with the creation of DHCP reservations.
Configuring switch ports to support host connectivity
Design highly reliable, cost effective and high performance configurations for the LAN.

WirelessDesign and deploy new wireless environments that are secure, reliable and high performing.
Maintaining existing local and store wireless infrastructures.
Providing guest access services at all store locations.
Utilize and modify, when necessary, wireless standard to implement wireless data networks.

Firewall and Router Access ListsEngineering and configuration of firewall rules permitting new business-related services.
Engineering and configuration of access list rules permitting new business-related services.
Maintaining existing access lists.
Provide a highly secure network through the proper use and design of firewalls.

Load BalancingConfiguring and maintaining the load balancing appliances for maximum reliability, value and simple use.
Evaluating incoming requests for new load balancing services and engineering appropriate solutions.
Configuring new services on the load balancing appliances and testing to confirm functionality.
Modifying the configuration of existing load balancing services.
Monitoring existing load balancing services and load balancing appliances.

VPNCreating and maintaining existing firewall and VPN configurations for internal and external Business Partners.
Create and Maintain firewall and VPN configurations for remote users.
Modifying existing firewall rules to permit additional services.
Modifications to VPN connections permitting additional access to existing services.
Engineering and implementing new VPN services.
Creating a new VPN connection for the exchange of information with business partners.
Engineering and implementing new Business Partner services.
Provide secure, reliable and high performance on the connections between business partners and remote users and the company network.

Projects/Consulting/ArchitectureMeeting with customers to gather, compile and share network data.
Evaluating customer needs and providing solutions that meet their requirements and follow company standards whenever possible.
Obtaining quotes for both hardware and software network components.
Ordering network equipment.
Assisting IT Team with issues.
New site installation or upgrade, including all company sites.
Installation and deployment of new technology.
Network support to joint ventures.
Network integration resulting from company mergers and acquisitions.

TroubleshootingCapturing and evaluating protocol analysis reports using network management tools.
Perform capacity planning by monitoring the WAN environment for utilization issues and taking appropriate action.
Proactively find problems and address them before they impact the customer.
Assisting with the troubleshooting of performance issues by evaluating the network components involved

Minimum Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or related degree
5 years' experience in an information technology department
5 years' managerial experience

Desired Job QualificationsSolid technical knowledge of networks, digital and satellite technology and PC based applications
Prior experience managing technical staff in multiple locations within a medium or large size firm
Presently or recently employed at a large auto, truck, or heavy equipment dealership operation (10 or more stores)
Basic to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong organization and communication skills
Strong managerial and leadership abilities
