Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: ED - Emergency Department - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/24/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with at least 2 years of ED experience and active WA or compact RN license. Responsibilities - Work in a busy emergency department within an acute care setting - Unit consists of 25 beds plus hallway and surge spaces with a daily census of 140-150 patients - Patient population includes adults and pediatrics with common diagnoses such as sepsis, chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke, and pediatric cases - RN-to-patient ratio is typically 4:1 - Shifts are primarily 12 hours, scheduled from 10a-10p with every other weekend required - Epic is used for charting; previous experience is preferred but not required - RNs may occasionally be assigned to triage and to care for boarded patients - Travelers will work primarily at one hospital but may be required to float to other hospitals within Region I - Three days of unit-specific orientation provided - ED RNs provide direct patient care, perform triage, administer medications and breathing treatments, and support team-based patient flow - No call or standby requirements - Must be willing to float to designated hospitals within the health region as needed - Holiday coverage is required but not more than regular staff - Hospital-issued scrubs are available or personal scrubs may be worn - Positive, team-based culture with supportive leadership - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Candidates must not have been employed with the associated health system within the past year Requirements - Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum of 2 years recent experience in emergency nursing - Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC - Experience with acute care ED nursing responsibilities - Copy of driver’s license required - Two references are required: one supervisor from the past 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630219.
