Job Description Job Description Salary: $30-31 per hour, DOE Parenting Therapist I Brigid Collins Family Support Center Full-Time | 40 Hours per week | Non-Exempt | On-Site | Licensed Associate-Level (LMHCA, LMFTA, or SWAIC) About Brigid Collins Family Support Center At Brigid Collins, our mission is to strengthen community health and resilience by providing trauma-informed, comprehensive support to children and families. TheParenting Academy Therapist plays a vital role in supporting families navigating behavioral challenges, mental health concerns, trauma, relationship stress, and complex life transitions. Using evidence-based parent management training interventions, youll help strengthen parentchild relationships, build resilience, and promote positive development. Compensation Starting wage: $30.00/hour Bilingual add-on: $1.00/hour for fluency in Spanish or Mixteco Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Assessment & Treatment Planning Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including interviews, observations, and screenings Assess family strengths and needs and complete thorough evaluations Develop collaborative, individualized treatment plans and track client progress Therapeutic Services Provide parentchild therapy and parent management training using evidence-based interventions Support skill-building in positive parenting practices, emotional regulation, communication, and relationship enhancement Deliver dyadic therapy to strengthen attachment and promote healthy development Facilitate group seminars and classes that offer psychoeducation and parenting support Collaboration & Care Coordination Partner with community agencies, schools, and professionals to ensure coordinated services Refer families to community resources as needed Help screen incoming referrals and support triage efforts Clinical Documentation & Quality Assurance Maintain accurate, timely, and ethical clinical records Meet standards for evidence-based program fidelity, training, and quality assurance Participate in mandatory meetings, group supervision, and continuing education Professional Development Attend regular clinical supervision (qualifying for licensure hours) Participate in ongoing training in evidence-based practices Demonstrate commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered care Other Duties Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the Parenting Academy and agency mission What You Bring (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Strong understanding of positive discipline, behavior management, and effective communication strategies Knowledge of child development across cognitive, social-emotional, and physical domains Ability to provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and person-centered support Excellent rapport-building, empathy, and active listening skills Ability to engage children and caregivers who have experienced adversity or trauma Flexibility and creativity in adapting interventions to diverse family needs Strong oral and written communication skills for collaboration with caregivers and professionals Ability to identify concerns, problem-solve, and connect families with appropriate resources Effective time management, planning, and documentation skills Willingness to adjust schedule to meet family availability Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional standards Comfort working and traveling across Whatcom and Skagit Counties Qualifications Masters degree in mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or a related field Associate-level licensure with WA State DOH (LMHCA, LMFTA, or SWAIC)or ability to obtain within 6 months Eligible to work in the U.S. and able to pass required background checks Valid drivers license and reliable vehicle Fluent in English; bilingual Spanish or Mixteco highly preferred How to Apply To be considered, please submit: Cover letter Resume Three professional references Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
