The SDOT Human Resources Department is hiring a Recruiter to join our team.--In this role, you will be aligned with hiring managers to recruit and hire a diverse, high-performing workforce. This position reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager and will draw on extensive knowledge of Talent Acquisition and functional areas of the business; forging dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers and HR business partners. Job Responsibilities Partner with hiring managers to provide consultative recruitment services. Collaborate to understand the environment, key job skills, competencies, and technical knowledge required to perform the job successfully Develop and implement proactive recruitment strategies with an emphasis on producing highly qualified and diverse applicants Cultivate relationships and with leaders at all levels, employees, and the public while consistently delivering exceptional customer service Act as liaison between hiring organizations, candidates, and HR to ensure consistent and professional recruitment/hiring processes Advise business partners on job postings, screening tools, interview instructions and questions, working tests, and the development of interview panels Promote an excellent candidate experience including candidate notification, offer letters, background checks, and assist with start date coordination/onboarding Interpret and apply a broad range of employment laws, public personnel administration practices, and labor relations guidelines Utilize social media to advertise jobs and source candidates Actively participate and promote SDOT at career fairs on college campuses and local job fairs Research and resolve complex issues and make sound judgments Maintain the integrity of department data and employee information in a confidential manner Track and monitor all hiring transactions in HRIS, Applicant Tracking System, and other employment databases Support department goals in promoting diversity and social justice. Qualifications Minimum--Qualifications: Education:-- A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field. -- Experience: At least two years of professional experience in Recruiting or related experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Human Resources Information Systems, and Applicant Tracking Systems, as well as experience working with confidential information. Must have a Washington State Driver's License or equivalent mobility. Desired Qualifications: Experience coordinating hiring processes in a complex, unionized organization Demonstrated success closing hard-to-fill positions Experience working with skilled-trades employees, industrial, manufacturing and/or factory workers and knowledge of public sector organizational practices Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization Broad knowledge and application of employment law A detail-oriented individual with experience using applicant tracking systems Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Excellent judgment, ability to work independently, self-motivated, and able to take initiative Excellent problem solving abilities with the ability to foresee potential obstacles and proactively identify solutions and resolve issues Ability to drive for results, manage shifting priorities with very little direction, and to deliver superior customer service A track record of establishing recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs Additional Information Hiring Process :-- Applications are reviewed after the job posting closes.--Submit the following to be considered for these vacancies:-- 1.-------- NEOGOV online (or paper) application---- 2.-------- Supplemental questionnaire---- 3.-------- A cover letter AND rsum-- Your application may be rejected if these items are missing or incomplete.
