has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineerto join us
as part of our Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team located
in Kent, WA. Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is currently
seeking a Lead Software Engineer (Level 4) to join the P-8
group/team located in Kent, WA.The P-8 team that you will be
supporting is the Architecture, Performance, and DevOps team. This
team supports many of the other teams throughout the organization,
this team has its hand in many different functions. As a new member
of this team, you will be working as a lead, helping to make sure
that the team meets goals, mentoring and providing work packages to
your team, scheduling, and developing or designing code as
necessary. Position Responsibilities Leads activities to develop,
document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms,
interfaces and designs for software systems. Leads development of
code and integration of complex software components into a fully
functional software system. Develops software verification plans,
test procedures and test environments, executing the test
procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system
requirements are met. Provides technical leadership for software
projects and leads software supplier management activities. Leads
development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes,
tools and metrics. Plans, executes and documents software research
and development projects. Serves as a subject matter expert for
software domains, system-specific issues, processes and
regulations. Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier
performance to ensure product and process conformance to project
plans and industry standards. Works under minimal direction. Travel
may be required up to 10% of the time ; domestically depending on
business needs This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.
Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S.
Citizenship. --A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is
required. This position allows some telecommuting. The selected
candidate may be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) Bachelor's degree
or higher in engineering and / or computer science Strong
programming skills in Java, Python, C or C++ 1+ years' experience
in software development, systems engineering, or integration and
test experience with mission systems on tactical platforms
Experience with the Linux OS 5+ years' of DevOps Experience
Experience on Automation, Continuous Integration and design
patterns Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Proficient in common DevOps technologies: version control,
container management, performance monitoring, deployment, Test
Automation Fluent in Java SW development environment,
architectures, and tools Strong Working knowledge of the CI
processes including debugging, test, and integration of software
tools Strong communication skills and a self-starter that can
thrive in a distributed remote work environment Understanding of
secure software development methodologies and Security First
mindset Understanding of designing and implementing full
stack/Microservice infrastructure Experience designing,
configuring, and managing a DevOps toolchain/workflow (Version
Control, Container Management, Performance Monitoring, Deployment &
Server Monitoring, Configuration Management, CI/CD, Test
Automation, Artifact Management, etc.) Understanding of security
controls such as DoD RMF, HIPAA, or SOC Typical
Education/Experience Education/experience typically acquired
through advanced technical education from an accredited course of
study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or
chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related
work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education
and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7
years' related work experience) In the USA, ABET accreditation is
the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
