This individual is responsible for welcoming patients to the
practice, treating all patients in a professional and courteous
manner, checking-in patients, reviewing patient charts to verify
necessary information and signatures, and entering new patient
information into computer, including demographic and insurance
information.Hours: 8:30am - 5pm or when finished with
patientsResponsibilities:Patient Check-In/Check-Outa. Checks
patients in, greeting everyone in a pleasant and professional
manner.b. Verify if Surgery or Clinic appointment.c. Monitors
patients in the lobby area and communicate with them, as needed.d.
Evaluates chart data to verify all information has been received,
completed, and signatures obtained.e. Photocopies patients
insurance card and updates as needed, paying close attention when
alert notes are present.f. Ensures that proper authorization or
referral is collected from the patient.g. Enters all new patient
demographic information into the computer.h. Assigns patient to
correct room in Nextech Room Manager (if surgery patient verifies
with surgery center that patient may report to the surgery
center).i. Monitors Room manager to ensure patient is moving in
room manager to achieve our new standards of 90-minute maximum Door
in to Door out service.j. Checks patient out after appointment has
been completed and scheduled next appointment as recommended by
doctor's plan for patient care, or creates recall to follow up on
patient care.k. If doctor refers to another doctor appointment
needs to be scheduled at check-out and all paperwork needs to be
sent to referring doctor.l. Other duties as
assigned.Administrative:a. Places telephone calls to no-show
appointments; rescheduling and adding recalls as needed.b. Provides
back-up support on telephones.c. Inspects reception room for
neatness.d. Performs other duties as required.e. Assists other
front/back office personnel as needed.RequirementsEducation &
Experience:1. High school diploma or equivalent.2. Two years'
experience in medical practice or transferable skills
required.Essential Skills & Abilities:1. Excellent customer service
and communication skills.2. Ability to work as a team member.3.
Management of multiple tasks simultaneously.4. Motivation to
succeed.5. Empathetic personality giving attention to patient's
needs and concerns.6. Strong organization with attention to
detail.7. Respectful treatment of patients and co-workers.8.
Ability to work in busy, stressful environment, as well as be
productive in down time in clinic.
