County is for you!Opportunity Overview: ATHLETIC STAFFSupport the
Program Director in facilitating pre-designed programs in an
assigned area. Expected to communicate with and motivate youth in a
positive manner. Majority of responsibility is working directly
with youth, ensuring their safety, well-being and development
through interactive play and other activities as directed. MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for creating and implementing weekly
program calendars for summer.Contribute to ensuring a healthy and
safe environment while helping to ensure that facilities, equipment
and supplies are maintained.Contribute to planning, developing,
implementing and evaluating programs, services and
activities.Ensure a productive work environment.Prepare activities
which ensure that a culturally and developmentally appropriate
program is offered.Develop positive interactions with children and
their families.Ensure that all rooms are maintained to high
standards of safety; are organized and neat.Transport small groups
of children in a safe and careful manner on field trips using a
Club twelve passenger van, walking or using public transit.Meet
regularly with the staff and director to ensure the smooth running
of all programs.Work assigned shift, with an expectation to be
flexible. Complete other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club
staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor.
Communicate daily to receive/provide information, discuss issues,
explain or interpret guidelines/instructions.External: Support
external contact as instructed with community groups, schools,
member's parents and others as directed by
supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: High
School diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in high school.Youth
development experience preferred.Knowledge and/or experience
working with a non-profit youth development agency, Boys & Girls
Club experience preferred.Good organization and attention to
detail, professional presence, strong customer relations skills and
ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Understanding of youth
development principles, ability to motivate youth in a positive
way.Ability to learn and support new ideas for the good of the
Club.Minimum 1 year of experience with school age children
preferred. Able to communicate effectively with children and other
adults.HOURS: Variable Hour - Under 30 hrsLOCATION: Federal Way
